Bread Recipe

Ingredients:-

  • 3 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 5 teaspoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 pkg yeast (generally 1 1/4  spoon active dry yeast)
  • 5 teaspoons sugar

Method :-

  • Add 1/4 cup of warm water in yeast (basically you have to mix water in yeast according to the instructions mentioned in the yeast packet) and stir it so there are no lumps.
  • Melt butter and add salt, sugar to yeast liquid and mix everything well. Now add 2 cups of flour to this mixture (1/4 cup at a time) and keep mixing until the whole flour is used.
  • Keep kneading the flour like the way you do when you are making chapati dough. If needed add more flour so that it does not stick on your fingers. It should look like this -
  • Now grease a bowl with little oil, put  dough inside this bowl and cover it with slightly wet cloth and let it stay for an hour in a warm place.
  • After rising, your flour should look like this -

  • Take the dough out from the bowl and punch it to make it shrink back down to normal size.
  • Now lay the dough out on the floured area so that it does not get stick and spread it out in a rectangular shape.

  • Roll the dough up. It should be same size as of your bread making pan. I am not having bread pan right now so I am using pizza pan instead but use bread pan if you want your bread to look like the one you get from grocery store.

  • Grease your bread pan with oil or butter.
  •  Put the rolled dough inside bread pan and cover it up with slightly wet cloth and place it again in a warm place for an hour.
  • Dough will rise again a bit.
  • Now put this pan with dough inside your oven for 30 min at 200 degree Celsius / 400 degree Fahrenheit.
  • Take it out after 30 min and let it cool before slicing.

  • Your bread is ready. Enjoy.
* Notes
  • You can try different flavours like using garlic salt in place of normal salt, adding oregano or italian herbs to make it italian bread.
  • You can use different flours also and experiment with them.
  • You can play with dough to make different shapes of bread.
